Product image 1

Narrow Lugwida

Narrow Ludwigia is a marsh plant of indeterminate origin as it has become naturalised in most parts of the world for centuries, though is thought to come from North America. Its red stem and bright green and red leaves make for an attractive mid to background plant and requires very little maintenance.

Features

  • Red stems and green and red leaves
  • Low maintenance and undemanding, but benefits from good nutrients & lighting
  • Fast growth rate, with good nitrate uptake
  • Adds colour to the aquarium
  • Can be grown with or without Co2

Scientific Name

Ludwigia Palustris

Difficulty

Relatively undemanding and easy to keep. Benefits from extra nutrients and lighting for ideal colour.

Water Conditions

  • Temperature: 22 - 26°C
  • pH: 6.5 – 7.5
  • Water Hardness: 150 – 300ppm

Placement

Background placement in the aquarium due to it's fast growth.

Growth Rate

Fast growth rate. Narrow Ludwigia will utilise nutrients in the water column in the form of liquid fertilisation, and enjoys a nutrient rich substrate for optimal colour and growth. It produces aerial roots readily, which can be left alone or trimmed.

Lighting

In lower lighting leaves remain a duller green/red colour and the lower leaves may drop off. Narrow Ludwigia benefits from moderate to high lighting for optimal colour and growth.
